COMEDY
BBC1 , 9.30pm British politics just screams comedy sometimes, and Tracey Ullman is happy to fulfil our need to laugh at the insanity of it all.
This sketch show is filmed right up to the minute so that she can stay current and newsy with her impressions, giving us a funny take on the week’s events.
Fans will already be familiar with her incarnations of SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon, Prime Minister Theresa May and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, following an election special in June. But newcomers to this series include French first couple Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron, as well as a debut for her impersonation of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Plus, she gives her insight into the Brexit negotiations – last week David Davis missed the meeting because he got on the wrong Eurostar and ended up in Disneyland.
But it’s not all politics – Tracey gives us a delicious version of Bake Off as Prue Leith.
Perhaps Prue’s mortifying social media clanger will get an airing this week?
