Ooh aah... Evra does a Cantona

PATRICE EVRA’S career was in tatters last night after he was sent off for attacking one of his own fans.

There were shades of Eric Cantona’s karate kick on a Crystal Palace fan in 1995 as ex-Manchester United

defender Evra went over the top preparing for Marseille’s Europa League game in Portugal against Vitorio Guimaraes.

Out-of-form Evra, 36, was roundly abused by French fans for 30 minutes during the warm-up.

As Marseille headed back to the dressing room, Evra confronted them behind the goal and karate-kicked a supporter in the head before being dragged away by team-mates.

Evra was dismissed by the referee but because he was listed as a substitute, Marseille were allowed to kick-off with 11 players as they went on to lose 1-0.
