Airport coke smugglers jailed for plot

- BY TOM TRACEY

TWO baggage handlers have been jailed for smuggling drugs into Heathrow.

Vaughn Henry, 46, and Dev Anand, 24, collected 3kg of cocaine that arrived at the airport from Brazil.

They were working with London-based drug trafficker Grattan Samuels, 23, and taxi driver Adnan Ahmed Malik, 24.

Samuels and Anand admitted conspiring to import drugs. Henry and Malik denied the charges but were found guilty.

Yesterday at Birmingham crown court Samuels was jailed for 16 years, Henry 10 years eight months, Malik nine years and Anand seven years and eight months.

Colin Williams of the National Crime Agency said the sentences “show how serious” the plot was.
