Sri Lanka’s capital is to welcome one of its most prestigious hotel openings in nearly 30 years with the launch of Shangri-La Colombo on November 16.

Claiming the metropolis’s most exclusive address – One Galle Face Promenade – Shangri-La Colombo will boast commanding views of the Indian Ocean from most of its 500 rooms and suites, plus it will have 41 serviced apartments.

And with six restaurants, bars and lounges, together with daily live entertainment, the hotel aims to become one of the most fashionable hot spots on the city’s social and dining scene.

There’s space to unwind in CHI, The Spa with a treatment or a dip in the pool, complete with bar.

The Discover Colombo offer of breakfast, dinner, either a city sunset walking tour or half-day tuk-tuk safari, and free wi-fi starts at £186 for two people sharing a room overnight.
