Jake is worthy pick of judges

JAKE Coates was stunned when he was named ITV Fundraiser at the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, in association with TSB.

He was among 15 finalists but it was Jake’s determination to help others, despite his heartbreak, which won over the judges.

Amanda Holden and Dame Joan Collins presented his award at Grosvenor House this week.

He said: “Emmy would be so proud of all the winners. They are what makes Britain great.”

Dame Joan told him: “They just don’t make gentlemen like you any more.”
