Dino as big as T-Rex found on Scots isle
BONES of a dinosaur as big as a T-Rex have been found on the Isle of Skye.
Elsa Panciroli, 35, who is leading the dig, said: “I can tell you there is something bigger that has been found.
“I wouldn’t want to say exactly what it is because we’re not sure yet – but it’s definitely bigger.”
Palaeontologists said the “significant find” is of a “medium-sized dinosaur” believed to date from the Jurassic period.
Two years ago Ms Panciroli and her University of Edinburgh team found fossilised footprints of huge sauropods on the remote Scottish island.
Skye now has a worldfamous reputation for extremely rare fossils from the Middle Jurassic period, which was around 163 to 174 million years ago.
