SARA’S SAD FOLLOWING CONEYGREE APPROACH

- BY DAVE MITCHELL

SARA BRADSTOCK was left stunned at Wetherby on Saturday after a mystery punter criticised her jockey, Nico De Boinville’s decision to pull Coneygree up after less than a circuit in the Charlie Hall Chase.

Having made two early mistakes, the 2015 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner lost his jumping fluency and was struggling when De Boinville took the kind decision to pull him up.

Said Bradstock, assistant trainer to husband Mark: ”I blame the low-lying sun for his mistakes – he’s got a nasty overreach but it isn’t career threatening.

”Some punter came up to me and said we shouldn’t have pulled him up. Some people do talk a lot of rubbish and it wasn’t fair at that stage as I was terribly worried about the horse.”
