BARCA BID FOR RIYAD

ROMA have revealed Barcelona rivalled them for the signing of Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez in summer.

The Algeria star (below) wanted to join a Champions League club, but no one would meet the Foxes’ £50million asking price.

Roma director Monchi said: “The only reason he didn’t come was they wouldn’t sell.

“It’s not an excuse – they said no to Barcelona too.”
