‘Rape victim’ in crowdfund bid for a trial
A WOMAN who says she was drugged and raped aims to raise £100,000 via crowdfunding to bring a private prosecution.
Emily Hunt said she woke naked and terrified in a hotel room in 2015.
She waived anonymity after prosecutors decided not to bring charges for lack of evidence.
Ms Hunt, 38, of Hackney, East London, said she did not recall meeting a man or being in a bar. CCTV showed her kissing him.
A year later, police revealed that her attacker filmed her lying naked and unconscious, she said.
Ms Hunt, with £5,000 pledged so far, said: “The thing to make me better is for this guy to go to jail.”
She said legal advisers told her of a “really good chance of conviction”.
