A CHEMICAL in contaminated vegetables could harm babies’ brain growth.

Pregnant women with high perchlorate levels had less T4 – a crucial thyroid hormone – a study found.

Author Prof Bijay Vaidya told a Society for Endocrinology conference in Harrogate, North Yorks: “This common pollutant may affect brain development.”
