Queen of Soaps crown suits Lu

CORRIE’S Lucy Fallon manages to outshine the red carpet in a trouser suit, before winning soapland’s Best Actress gong.

The star, 21, who plays Bethany Platt, was not the show’s only victor at the Inside Soap Awards.

It bagged five awards last night but was beaten by ITV rival Emmerdale’s eight – including Best Soap and Best Actor for Danny Miller, inset, as Aaron Dingle. But EastEnders star Davood Ghadami, also on Strictly, won Sexiest Male. The BBC show’s stalwart Gillian Taylforth got the Outstanding Achievement Award as Kathy Beale. While Lysette Anthony and Nicole Barber-Lane won Best Partnership as Hollyoaks’ Marnie Nightingale and Myra McQueen. Steven Murphy, Inside Soap editor, said: “This has been one of the biggest battles the Inside Soap Awards have ever seen.”
