Parasites must pay

LEAKED documents exposing grotesque tax avoidance on a catastrophic scale by the world’s super-rich should be called the Parasite Papers, not the Paradise Papers.

Every billion pounds dodged by these wealthy leeches is another billion less for the NHS, schools, military, housing and firefighters – or another billion the rest of us must pay to sustain our public services.

We must not just get angry, we must get even, demanding the law be changed so the freeloaders pay what’s due. Whether it be Mrs Brown’s Boys, Lewis Hamilton, Apple or the Queen, they deserve every word of the public backlash heading their way.

Squirrelling away cash in tax havens to avoid tax, dodge scrutiny or launder dirty money is a scandal by the few at the cost of the many.

It must end. Starting from now.
