FLYING HIGH

Passenger numbers at easyJet jumped nearly 10% last month despite it having to cancel 434 flights. Around half those were due to a French air traffic control strike and another 100 because of bad weather. EasyJet still carried more than 7.5 million people in October, taking its year-to-date figure to nearly 81m.
