Honour for Jo hero Bernard

THE widow of Bernard Kenny, the man who tried to save murdered MP Jo Cox, receives his posthumous bravery medal from the Queen. Doreen Kenny was presented with the George Medal awarded to Bernard for trying to stop Thomas Mair killing Jo, 41, in Birstall, West Yorks in 2016. Bernard was stabbed by Mair, but died of cancer, aged 79, in August. Jo’s sister Kim said he was a “true hero” and we should focus on “acts of heroism and not acts of hatred”.
