Therapy puts Rose on track
DANNY ROSE is seeing a psychologist as he completes his comeback from a nine-month injury lay-off that he describes as “one of the most difficult times of my life”.
The Spurs full-back is back in the England squad after making his return from a complicated knee problem. But Rose admitted he had to endure a huge mental struggle before completing his recovery.
He explained: “I have been through a whole load of emotions over the past nine months. I started seeing a psychologist to try to help me to think positive.
“I have started reading books to try to help keep me positive as well.
“This injury has been one of the most difficult periods of my life. Last season I was doing well, I felt untouchable. Then the injury happened. It brought me back down to earth.
“The weeks turned to months and I really didn’t see myself playing again any time soon, hence the reason why I’m speaking to somebody now to help me.”
Rose says the chance of a World Cup squad place is also aiding his comeback, adding: “It has been my incentive throughout my whole nine-month lay-off.”
