99% say pay cap must go

CIVIL servants have voted by an overwhelming 99% to reject the public sector pay cap in a new blow to PM Theresa May.

Eight in ten members of the Public and Commercial Services Union said they were ready to strike.

The union is calling for above-inflation pay rises.

General secretary Mark Serwotka said: “Members have sent a clear signal that the cap must go.”
