Down’s blood test success
A SIMPLE blood test for Down’s syndrome that avoids the risk of miscarriage has been developed by British scientists.
Antenatal reflex DNA screening is more accurate – 95% successful compared with the current 81%.
Blood samples are split and if the first shows a certain risk level, the other is given a new DNA test.
Sir Nicholas Wald, of Queen Mary University of London, said: “It has substantial benefits to the well-being of the women.”
