Lobbyist lord is behind meetings
MOST of Ms Patel’s meetings with Israeli heavyweights included another British political figure at the table.
Lord Stuart Polak is a Tory peer, a corporate lobbyist and the driving force behind the Conservative Friends of Israel for more than 28 years.
He is understood to have set up 12 meetings with Israeli officials – and sat in on 11 of them.
He is chairman of TWC Associates, a firm of “strategy consultants” which specialises in “understanding the political landscape and how it works”.
The firm’s website boasts it can help clients “craft political strategies” and help “overcome the complexities” of Britain’s parliamentary system.
Lord Polak is a Westminster veteran and has taken hundreds of Tory MPs on trips to Israel over the years.
One associate said: “Everything to do with lobbying [for Israel] goes through Stuart.”
