Sack this oaf today

IF he had an ounce of honour left, Boris Johnson’s resignation letter would be on Theresa May’s desk this morning.

It’s unforgiveable that the worst Foreign Secretary in generations should refuse to apologise for a blunder that may condemn a British mother to five extra years in an Iranian jail.

Politics for him is a jolly game – all japes and ruffling that blond hair in the hope he can laugh his way into Downing Street.

However, for incarcerated Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe and her family, it is deadly serious.

She may be a pawn in some Iranian power game. But Johnson’s foot-in-mouth stupidity in wrongly suggesting she was training journalists was a free gift to the regime in Tehran.

The oaf then went on to praise Donald Trump after vowing to boycott New York to avoid meeting him.

Johnson isn’t going to quit. He is too ambitious, too arrogant and too proud.

So May must sack him at once for the sake of weeping Nazanin... and to restore Britain’s reputation in the world.
