YOUR SHOUT

-

Fiona, I wish I had your way with words – your article last week about sleazy men is just what I’ve been trying to say to people. It isn’t all about personalities and MPs. Women all over the country, in all walks of life, have encountered men that think it’s OK to talk filth to them, slap their bums, leer at their breasts and bully them in the workplace.

What annoys me is that it isn’t until a celebrity or an MP makes a complaint that any notice is taken. I honestly do believe it’s a generational thing and that young women these days are not as prepared to put up with this nonsense as we were. Thankfully, we evolve. Hopefully the future will be much better for our grandchildren. Name withheld via e-mail FP: You do have a way with words! And you’ve used it well. Thank you.

Fiona, my mother went to church every Sunday until she was too ill to go. She wanted the Vicar to come to the house (close by to the church) to give her communion, but he wouldn’t. She was very upset.

One day I found her in the garden smelling the roses. “You are nearer to God in the garden than anywhere else on Earth,” she said. I agree with you, Fiona, you do not have to go to church to be good. I do so enjoy your page – you are my kind of girl. Ray, via email FP: And you’re clearly my kind of boy, Ray!

Fiona, reading your views on the commercial exploitation of Christmas reminded me of this saying – you can tell it’s Christmas, Tesco have got Easter eggs on the shelves. Chris Torode-Catterick, by email FP: Ho, ho, ho. Thanks for that Chris.
