For good health colour me pink

-

We’ve known for some time that the colour of the room you’re sitting or working in can make a difference to your mood, hence all the different colours in hospitals.

Now we’ve found that a new pink can reduce blood pressure. Also, waterfalls in the environment increase productivity. Experts are now saying that “design can make people healthier”.

Cool Down Pink is a newly invented colour and is thought to make people less aggressive.

Researchers found significant falls in blood pressure in people who spent just a few minutes in a cabin painted in the colour, and it’s used on the walls of Swiss prison cells in a bid to calm down inmates.

You can find it at a new exhibition, which includes examples of indoor waterfalls and rain forests, which were found in a recent study to improve wellbeing and creativity by 15%.

Organisers of the exhibition are also encouraging visitors to take a nap in an office sleep pod, which can be booked in advance for a 20-minute lie-down.

The pods have already been installed in the offices of technology giant Facebook, and are also used by City trading firms and sports teams.

The free exhibition is called Making Wellbeing and runs to December 22 at The Building Centre in Store Street, WC1.
