ERIKSEN: WE REALLY CAN GO THROUGH

- BY PAUL O’HEHIR

CYRUS CHRISTIE loves it when a plan comes together – but wishes people would stop measuring him against Seamus Coleman.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN reckons knocking Ireland out of the World Cup would be even sweeter than Tottenham stuffing Real Madrid.

The Danes will look to their talisman in Dublin tomorrow after he failed to light up Saturday’s 0-0 draw in Copenhagen.

Spurs star Eriksen was awarded man-of-the-match by a team sponsor, but everyone in the stadium – including the midfielder himself – looked surprised.

He started well but flattered to deceive, particularly in the second-half when he went missing.

Ireland refused to man-mark him, but midfielder Harry Arter (above) was often closest to him and kept him quiet.

Eriksen claims a win in Dublin would mean more than Tottenham’s 3-1 Champions League victory over Real.

“Yes, I think it would,” he said. “It would mean a lot for me personally and for the country.

“Getting your country to a World Cup is one of the biggest things you can do.”
