Measures to keep him behind bars
ARTHUR Collins is on a list of prisoners at risk of escaping and has to wear “special” clothes in prison, it can now be revealed. Once the police had caught up with Collins, who went on the run in a bid to escape justice, unique measures were put in place to keep him behind bars. He had to wear a different prison uniform to other inmates so that he would be easier to spot by staff if he tried to do a runner. He arrived at court each day in his uniform and had to change into a suit before entering the dock. And his appearance on the witness stand at court saw an increased police presence around the building, something the jury were banned from hearing about. Collins is now facing a long jail sentence.
