Please End the irritating music

Once again a programme is in danger of being spoilt by music being played while the actors are talking.

Period drama Howard’s End on BBC1 was ruined by it on Sunday night. Why do the producers think we need this music? What do other readers think? Sheila Toplis South Benfleet, Essex
