Brazil a job for the boys

-

I WOULD love to see Gareth Southgate give the lads who did so well for England against Germany on Friday at Wembley another run-out against Brazil tonight.

Because when we get to March and we’re looking at scheduling games ahead of a World Cup, the Three Lions gaffer ideally wants as big a pool of players as possible to pick from so we’re not just throwing anyone in.

It would be great to see Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham and Co at least go into the end of the season with three or four caps under their belts – and having had a decent amount of face-time with the manager and senior players.

And if we do that, we at least give ourselves every opportunity to be able to pick from a squad that is comfortable with its surroundings.

That’s the next big step, making sure that the rookies feel part of the England international set-up so they go out and express themselves whenever they’re called upon.
