Kane tops for Brazil chief Tite

- BY DARREN LEWIS

BRAZIL coach Tite admits he is pleased Harry Kane is missing for England tonight.

The Spurs striker returned to his club last week after an injury scare but is expected to be fit for Saturday’s north London derby with Arsenal.

Tite (above) hailed Kane’s finishing and tipped the double Golden Boot winner to rise to even greater heights.

He said: “Kane is a penalty-box player with an impressive finishing ability. He’s good in the air, good with his right foot and left. It’s very impressive, he has a lot of quality.” Kane (left) is the Premier League’s joint top scorer this season on eight goals along with Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero. He has six goals from Tottenham’s last five league meetings with Arsenal.

Aguero’s City team-mate Gabriel Jesus will lead the line for Brazil tonight.

Tite added: “The characteristics of Gabriel Jesus and Kane are a bit different. Gabriel attacks the space, gives us that depth, Kane is more positional. They are two strong strikers.”

Tite also rated England as among the favourites for the Russia World Cup.

While the five-time world champions are bidding to build on their stunning record in the competition, England were knocked out at the group stage in 2014 for the first time since 1958.

But Tite believes the fresh blood in Gareth Southgate’s current crop will help.

He said: “All of the big teams are favourites – especially England with their young players like Alli, Kane and the experience of Cahill.”
