Amazon is to adapt J.R.R Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.

The Amazon Prime Original will explore events before the first book in the trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring. Sharon Tal Yguado, head of scripted series at Amazon Studios, said producers were thrilled to be taking fans on a new and epic journey through Middle Earth.
