CELEBS LEAP INTO CAMP LIFE

Never mind the showers, watch out for mozzies

THE contestants will not only have to endure each other’s company but also the worst infestation of mosquitos in camp for a decade.

Bosses fear the campmates will be plagued after wet weather caused an explosion in the insects’ numbers.

Executive producer Oliver Nash said: “Celebs will get bitten to shreds as it’s so humid. It’s going to drive them nuts.”

The show’s medic Bob McCarron is also concerned about the ticks. He said: “A minimum of three of them will have ticks. It will happen. They are my biggest problem.

“They are OK if you get them off within 12 hours but, any longer, you get general malaise and headaches.”

Bob, 67, has also removed two snakes from camp but is most fearful of any rough-scaled snakes that could emerge.

He added: “It is as long as my finger and is a dirty brown colour. They’ve enough poison to kill 12 people. They could wipe the camp out, in theory.” Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo was one of the first celebs to try out the jungle shower, and didn’t look to happy.

Meanwhile, Dennis Wise and Shappi Khorsandi bonded after jumping out of a plane together.

Former footballer Dennis was the first to leap into camp, saying afterwards: “Never done it before. Loved it.”

When comedian Shappi landed, they embraced. She said: “Without a doubt, that is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done. That deserves a meal ticket.”
