Poch: I’ll tell Dele to behave

- FROM JOHN CROSS

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has put Dele Alli on red alert as he prepares to face the referee who nearly wrecked his World Cup dream.

French ref Clement Turpin was in charge of England’s qualifier with Slovakia when Alli got into hot water after making a one-fingered salute (above), which led to a FIFA ban.

Alli was let off with a one-game suspension, but originally feared he could get a lengthy ban and miss next summer.

Now Turpin will officiate Tottenham’s showdown with Borussia Dortmund tonight and Pochettino said: “It’s important to be aware. I will tell Dele to be careful, if he plays.

“The referee moves on and I’m sure there’s nothing in his mind about that situation. But this is always good. I will tell Dele.”

Pochettino insists he will field a strong line-up, knowing victory will seal top spot in the group.

There could be a recall for Danny Rose, who was dumped from Saturday’s squad against Arsenal.

Harry Kane may not be risked, as he recovers after a knee injurynjury and did not look fullyully fit in the defeat at Arsenal.

Spurs boss Pochettino, who ho believes an English nglish club could win the Champions League this season, added: “Our challenge changed because we were so good in the first four ur games.

“If we can take ake first position, and finish on top, it’s t’s important.

“Man United, d, Liverpool, City,y, Chelsea, us – we are doinging well.

“If we are allll in the next stage, we havee the chance to go further. It would be fantastic for English football.”
