SCOTS RALLY IN LAST TEST

-

GEORGE NORTH has stunned rugby on both sides of the Severn Bridge by revealing he is heading home to Wales.

The British and Irish Lions wing (above) has been at Northampton since 2013 and helped Saints win the Premiership in his first season.

But his contract is up this summer and the former Scarlets star has decided to return to Welsh rugby, although his destination has yet to be decided.

“This has been an incredibly hard decision,” said the 25-year-old, who has 72 Wales and Lions caps.

“Saints developed me as a player and stuck by me through thick and thin, so it is with a heavy heart I’ve decided to move on.

“But, as a proud Welshman I felt now is the right time to move back home despite the compelling offer Saints made me.” Wales boss Warren Gatland, preparing for Saturday’s clash with New Zealand, said: “It’s great for the game here in Wales.” GREGOR TOWNSEND has made four changes to the Scotland side defeated narrowly by New Zealand. The Dark Blues face Australia at Murrayfield after missing out on a historic first win over the All Blacks, where they lost 22-17 in a thriller.

Ryan Wilson returns to the back row, following a shoulder injury, in place of Cornell du Preez, while Sean Maitland is added to the back line.

Grant Gilchrist and Simon Berghan also come back into the starting XV.

“Our players will rise to the challenge of this final autumn Test,” said Townsend.
