BEWARE THE NEW ONE-TWO

Toon face Hornets side that have doubled up in last SEVEN away games

- BY MIKE WALTERS

MARCO SILVA’S two-timers are hitting the road again – and that could spell double trouble for Newcastle.

Watford have scored at least two goals in their last seven Premier League away games and Hornets head coach Silva insists they will not be abandoning their free-scoring approach to park the bus on Tyneside.

He said: “Two goals in every away match is a very good number for us, but this is our way.

“We don’t play with 10 men behind the ball and wait for mistakes. We play to score – and we don’t change our style a lot away from home.

“I like our team to keep a good organisation and good focus and I’m always really upset when we concede, especially from a setpiece.

“If the opposition scores a great goal, congratulations to them – but in general they have not created a lot against us. It was more our mistakes.

“Until now we have given good answers in our away games. We play well and compete and it is important that we show good spirit. We know what is our way, what is our obligation – but we cannot control speculation.

“The only way we can prove something is on the pitch.”

Silva is relieved to have Marvin Zeegelaar available for the trip to St James’ Park after the Dutch full-back suffered a broken nose after just seven SECONDS of his debut against West Ham last Sunday. Zeegelaar (left) caught Hammers striker Andy Carroll’s stray elbow in his face and Silva says the England discard was fortunate not to be booked or sent off. He said: “Everyone knows how Carroll plays, and I understand how you need to use your arms when you jump to gain extra height. “But in general – and I am not talking about Carroll’s case specifically – players need to be careful and respect each other when they use their arms in challenges like this.”
