Emma, age 6

Suffered an “incalculable” impact after being sexually abused, “bullied and manipulated” for a decade by her father. Christopher Frost, 52 , got an indefinite sentence. Emma, now 28, wants to protect others who are abused.

Ayeesha, age 21 months

Kathryn Smith stamped on her tot’s chest, inflicting horrendous injuries. Smith was found guilty of murder last year and stepdad Matthew Rigby of causing or allowing her death in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffs.

Noah, age 13 months

Toddler, of Luton, Beds, was murdered by mum’s lover, Hardeep Hunjan, 27, who got 23 years’ jail. Noah’s mum Ronnie Tayler-Morrison, 22, got six-and-a-half years for causing or allowing his death, plus two years for cruelty. MY two boys will be opening their presents this Christmas morning in a safe, happy, loving home with parents who would do anything for them.

And I’ll make sure they know just how lucky they are because so many other children out there will be waking up cold, hungry, terrified or in pain.

Some will be in such unspeakably awful situations they will not even realise - or care - that it’s Christmas.

With parents who see them

Kayleigh, age 15

as nothing but a burden, an after-thought or worse.

Was abused by Rotherham sex gang ringleader Arshid “Mad Ash” Hussain aged 24. She got pregnant at 14 and 15. In February, Hussain, now 40, was found guilty of multiple offences. He and two brothers were jailed.

Liam, age 2

Murdered by his mum Rachel Fee, 31, and her partner Nyomi, 29, at their home near Glenrothes, Fife. Tot had been tortured and suffered heart injuries similar to those of road crash victims. Both women got life.

Breck, age 14

The teen was lured to his death by Lewis Daynes, then 19, after being groomed online. Daynes, sentenced to a minimum 25 years after admitting murder, slashed his throat in a “sexual and sadistic” attack in Grays, Essex.
