MOURINHO TELLS HIS FLOPS THEY CAN LEAVE

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

MANCHESTER UNITED’S unsettled stars have been told they can go next month – as long as the price is right. Henrikh Mkhitaryan (above, first right) is unhappy at being shunned by boss Jose Mourinho and Mirror Sport has revealed inset) that the club is prepared to offload him in the summer to make way for Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil. United may also consider offers for Marouane Fellaini (above, far right). The big Belgian is out of contract in July, and Mourinho, referring to a possible departure, said: “I think for the right price.

“I think every player has a price. If a player is not happy, if a player requests a move and we consider we can get a good price – like it happened for us last season with Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin – I would never say no.”

Mourinho, whose United side where heavily criticised after last week’s derby defeat, may sign reinforcements in the new year after revealing Eric Bailly needs an operation on his ankle that could keep him out another three months.

“He goes for surgery,” he said. “I don’t say he’s out for the rest of the season, but it’s for the next two or three months.”

Mourinho said that the winter window is not the ideal time to do business but he will do so if forced. “I’m not a big fan of the January market, but if there are players you have the chance to sign, you shouldn’t lose that chance. If you can buy one you would buy in July a few months earlier, then great.”
