Protester in stage raid at Corbyn event
A HOUSING protester stormed the stage at a Jeremy Corbyn event to demand he condemn Labour councils for “socially cleansing us”.
Aysen Dennis, 59, who has lived for 24 years in the Aylesbury Estate in South London, was at the event with the Labour leader’s brother Piers on Thursday.
Piers held a banner with her but did not invade the stage and said he backed his sibling’s policies.
Mr Corbyn has told inner city councils he will force them to give residents a direct vote on regeneration if Labour wins power.
While attending the event to mark six months since the Grenfell Tower fire, he stopped short of condemning councils but “hoped” they would listen.
