A cathedral of tears for victims

-

No wonder Adele shed a tear at the Grenfell Tower National Memorial Service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Thursday.

I suspect her emotion was not only for the people who perished, but for the knowledge that this would never have been allowed to happen if Tory Kensington and Chelsea council gave as much of a damn about the havenots as the haves in their borough.

Grenfell is a damning symbol of the ever-increasing divide in our society, fuelled by a Government that, with its savage cuts, cares more about saving money than enabling healthy, happy lives.

So, so, so, so, SO annoying! Just when it gets cold and we need warm, cosy clothes or realise we need a new coat, the flaming spring/summer collections are hanging there, all flimsy, on the rails. It happens EVERY year. Do retailers live in a micro-climate? Or what?

Who’d have thought that the lovely Debbie McGee harboured a siren inside? With the body of a teenager and moves that match the professionals’ best offerings, she has been AMAZING on Strictly.

And, following the death of hubby Paul Daniels, Strictly has been amazing for her. My 15-year-old reckons she’s going to win. That’s how sick (15-year-old’s adjective) she is. Go Debbie!
