The audience watching the Xmas special of Better Than The Real Thing got an added bonus during filming, host Paddy McGuinness says.

The show, featuring Britain’s best tribute acts, airs this Saturday and Paddy says: “What was good is acts got up in between filming and performed for the audience to keep them entertained. So everyone in the room got to see eight other performances that weren’t planned.

“It was brilliant. Will Smith got up and did Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Dolly Parton did Nine to Five. It was like some sort of icons concert, I forgot that I was actually working!”
