WHAT’S THIS TEST?
CITRULLINE ANTIBODY TEST
Used in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, the citrulline antibody test, also called anti-CCP, evaluates patients with unexplained joint inflammation.
Citrulline antibody is present in the blood of most patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
The test is used by doctors to help find the best treatments for rheumatoid arthritis. The presence of anti-CCP antibodies suggests a tendency toward a more aggressive form of rheumatoid arthritis.
