IT’S A MEDICAL MARVEL
# The story of little Vanellope Hope Wilkins, who was born with a heart outside her body, is like a Christmas miracle (Mirror, December 13). But equally important is that it shows the magnificent achievements our underfunded NHS is capable of.
Jeremy Hunt should hang his head in shame at the way he has treated our NHS staff. Every day our doctors, nurses and all the support staff go to work knowing the chances are they will face heartbreak and long hours, but they go anyway.
Yet Mr Hunt sits in his ivory tower expecting them to do it for a pittance. He should read your story word for word and I would hope the shame he feels is so overwhelming that he pays them what they deserve. Mary Pester, Saltash, Cornwall
