Now the Ox has run-in with a TV reporter to stop a grilling about Coutinho’s future

- BY NEIL McLEMAN

ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN jumped to the defence of teammate Philippe Coutinho, as the Anfield club clashed with a TV interviewer for the second week running. Coutinho was being grilled by Sky Sports’ Patrick Davison on his future at the club, when Oxlade-Chamberlain (right) interjected and said: “He has been the most professional player I have seen all

season. It is not fair to ask those sort of questions, I don’t think. He gives us his all every game and that is all we can ask for.” Last week Kop boss Jurgen Klopp hit out at the same reporter over questioning following Everton’s late penalty at Anfield. Coutinho’s brilliant display against Bournemouth even overshadowed Mo Salah, who scored his 20th goal of the season in only his 26th appearance, since his summer move from Roma. The feat has only been achieved quicker by two legends in the Reds’ history – Ian Rush and Roger Hunt. Liverpool moved back into fourth place in the table but remain 18 points behind Manchester City.
