MO’S A MIG NOISE

- BY NEIL McLEMAN

SIMON MIGNOLET has hailed Mo Salah as Liverpool’s selfless “superstar” after the winger’s sensational start on Merseyside.

Back home in Egypt, the £37million summer signing has used his Premier League wages to pay for a new school and an ambulance service.

And for the Reds, he has notched 20 goals for the club in the quickest time since George Allan in 1897 while also doing his share of defensive duties.

The Belgium goalkeeper (right) said: “He is one who isn’t going to get carried away, which is important.

“He doesn’t think about anything else other than his job and that is very important because he is scoring goals and can be the superstar but he is also working very hard to get back and defend. We need that from our wingers because of the way we play.

“I know Radja Nainggolan – a former team-mate of Salah’s at Roma – really well and he told me that he is a brilliant player. I wasn’t expecting him to score that many goals as a winger but he is doing well, working hard and let’s hope he can keep doing what he is doing. Would Salah get my vote for Player of the Year? Of course, but let’s not talk about that so soon as it is still only December.” Jurgen Klopp’s team are the first side in top-flight history to have won four consecutive away games by at least three goals – in contrast to their struggles at Anfield. And they take their counterattacking style to the Emirates on Friday night with Mignolet hoping his forwards get the same freedom as at the Vitality Stadium. “They are so quick that they can run at the defence and they have the skill to go past their opponent,” said Mignolet. “They managed to get the goals against Bournemouth – it went for us which wasn’t the case for us last week. “Bournemouth are a football-playing side and that made it easier for us. We have to keep going as we have a big game coming up against Arsenal.”
