Rehab bid on petty crime

PETTY criminals could avoid prosecution by opting for rehab in a move set to be unveiled today.

The scheme was recommended in a report on “racial bias” in the justice system, led by Labour MP David Lammy. No 10 will today pledge to work on his 35 recommendations.

Justice Secretary David Lidington said: “This is the first step in a change of attitude to race disparity.”
