This tense finale begins with a scene between Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy) so compelling that we could watch just the two of them for the whole hour.

But there’s a boxing match about to get underway and the crowds are jeering for the big bout between Tommy’s young gypsy boxer and Alfie’s gigantic fighter Goliath.

Tommy reassures a paranoid Arthur: “We’re surrounded by soldiers, Alfie’s men were strip searched – we’re all right.”
