Coup blimey, Aimee

I am full of admiration for coupon queen Aimee Moore who in this paper today reveals she’s done Christmas for £20. Admiration, and bewilderment. How does she do it? Seems to me the inflationary rate around Christmas in our house puts Germany in the 1920s in the shade. When children are little you can palm them off with some brightly coloured plastic, a couple of cardboard boxes, bubble wrap and enough chocolate coins to keep them bouncing till bedtime. But with each passing year the letters to Father Christmas become so much more detailed, specific, and frankly expensive. Well done to Aimee for feeding and treating her family with a good bit of planning and vouchering. I just wonder if it’ll be quite so simple when her youngsters hit their teens.
