I’d like to comment on the letter from the chap whose girlfriend insists on spending Christmas with her parents, so he never gets to see his (Dear Coleen, Dec 14).
When I was first married, we spent Christmas Day with one set of parents and Boxing Day with the other set. It was some years before I cooked a Christmas dinner!
When our twins came along in September 1973, I invited both sets of parents over to us for Christmas.
Perhaps your reader could host Christmas this year or alternate Christmas Day and Boxing Day?
