Xmas chocs risk to dogs

-

DOGS are four times more likely to get chocolate poisoning at Christmas as families share their treats, a study has found.

“Enhanced availability of seasonally related chocolate” posed a threat to mutts, especially as they are often fed to pets by children, scientists said.

A stimulant in chocs can cause vomiting, agitation and seizure in dogs.

Christmas is worse for dogs than Valentine’s Day and Easter, researchers at Liverpool University said.
