Workers worse off than 10yrs ago

-

PEOPLE doing vital jobs on Christmas Day are most likely to be paid less than they were a decade ago, a study found.

The real wages of doctors are down more than £1,000 a month, £400 for prison officers and police, and £100 for nurses and security guards, the TUC said. Cleaners, carers, waiting staff and vicars have also seen their pay shrink.

TUC chief Frances O’Grady said 2018 was the year Government should “ditch their Scrooge-like pay restrictions”.
