DISKO, a 9-1 chance for the King George VI Chase at the start of trading yesterday, will miss the race.

The Noel Meadetrained grey, twice a winner at Grade 1 scorer as a novice last season, has been a warm ante-post order for Kempton on Boxing Day.

But Meade said yesterday: “He may run [in the Christmas Chase] at Leopardstown, which is only an hour away.

“All the top English horses look like they’re going to run.

“He’s only six and we don’t want to bring him over, give him a hard race and bottom him for the rest of the season.”
