MAURICIO: I AM A WINNER

- BY NEIL McLEMAN

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has insisted is a “winner” and will not settle for just Champions League qualification this season.

Last weekend’s thrashing at Manchester City (boss Pep Guardiola, right) left Tottenham 21 points behind the Premier League leaders – and even trailing tomorrow’s opponents Burnley.

The Clarets are the shock candidates in a five-way fight for the last two Champions League places. But asked if he would now settle for fourth, the Argentine insisted: “No! Do I want higher than that? Yes, of course.

“I am here because I love to take a risk.

“I am a winner. Sometimes winners lose too and have to lose to feel the pain. But I never accept a result before it is played – never.

“Always the ambition is to be as high as possible.”
