Mother of Cassidy’s love child slams Sam Fox over sex claim
A FORMER girlfriend of David Cassidy has rejected Samantha Fox’s claims that he sexually assaulted the model.
Sherry Benedon, 64, insisted the 70s pop idol, mother of his only daughter Katie, was not the type. She spoke out after Fox, 51, accused Cassidy of following her into a London restaurant toilet and groping her when she was 19.
But Sherry said: “What this woman says happened was just not David’s style. David would never have followed a woman into a bathroom. It’s in very poor taste that this woman should make these claims after David has died and is not able to defend himself.”
Sherry met Cassidy in 1970 and had an on-off relationship with him. She gave birth to Katie, now a successful actress, in 1986.
Fox claimed the singer, who died last month aged 67, molested her in 1985 after she appeared in one of his videos.
