Deposit to cut plastic waste
A DEPOSIT of 20p should be slapped on drinks bottles to cut ocean plastic pollution, MPs have urged.
There should also be more drinking fountains and free water in all food outlets, says the Environmental Audit Committee.
Labour MP Mary Creagh, who heads the committee, claimed a small refundable levy will “result in less littering and more recycling”.
Environment Secretary Michael Gove has signalled he may back such a plan.
